Business Analyst


Indiana Farmers Insurance, an A (Excellent) rated insurance carrier per A.M. Best, is seeking an individual eager to engage in a collaborative environment and will bring innovation and creativity to the Business Analyst position. The Business Analyst will work with various business and technology teams to elicit, document, and communicate system requirements.
The individual will work with Stake Holders, Subject Matter Experts, Application Developers and System Architects both internal to Indiana Farmers as well as third party vendors, to document business system requirements and planned system design and integrations to meet the business requirements. The primary responsibilities are to collect data through interviews, surveys, web search, database search, or other methods. Partner with various teams to identify key information gaps and that information. Serve as a primary support resource for end-users, developers and quality assurance, responding to questions and requests related to data, applications, reports, and assigned systems’ functionality. Foresee and anticipate business issues and data reporting challenges of the company. Assist and direct business units in developing system requirements and specifications to solve business issues. Provide alternative solutions for Business Units while being mindful of known or potential technological limitations. Design and develop application and software functionality to assist users with various business needs. Serve as a quality team member who uses effective listening techniques, solves problems creatively, responds to unscheduled requests, is enthusiastic about work, and is a positive role model. Design and develop user interaction and usability functions within newly developed and redesigned systems.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience with business analysis, system development and implementation.
  • Experience with formal project management practices including participating as an AGILE Team Member and formal systems development methodologies.
  • Extensive knowledge of Diamond and VelociRater functionality and design.
  • Support experience with messaging, mobile and other collaboration technologies.
  • Experience with business analysis and data mining
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Sciences or other closely related field.
  • Thorough understanding of current information systems technologies such as client-server, relational databases, web-based systems, and object-oriented design.
  • Excellent planning, client support, communication and organizational skills.
