Automation Testing Engineer

We are currently looking for an Automation Testing Engineer to join our Information Technology Team. This position provides the opportunity to use your skills in a truly collaborative environment. As an Automation Testing Engineer at Indiana Farmers Insurance, you will use your experience and ability to develop and establish automated test scripts and testing processes. You will serve as a leader and source of automated testing and best practices knowledge within the QA and Development teams. You will be part of a team that builds exceptional systems in support of our vision and provides an outstanding user experience for our members.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Technical skills:
  • Developing automated test estimates, test cases, test scripts test processes and testing frameworks
  • Managing, monitoring, and enhancing assigned test automation applications, reports, web sites, systems and databases to ensure the departmental goals for quality are met or exceeded; Proactively seeks to minimize downtime and makes recommendations for long-term changes
  • Creating/Maintaining automated test suit framework
  • Assisting with software application troubleshooting and technical diagnosis
  • Debugging automated test scripts and optimizing code for increased performance.
  • Monitoring program performance after implementation to prevent reoccurrence of program operating problems and ensure efficiency of operation.  Generate automated-run reporting
  • Helping with other data center tasks (which may include “non-standard” work hours), such as executing job procedures, completing nightly batch cycles, printing reports and other data center special requests.

Leadership skills:
  • Facilitating &/or participating in test planning and test case reviews
  • Training new hires and mentoring as it relates to the test automation process
  • Working closely with the QA manager and team in the creation of automated test scripts, automation training and process improvements
  • Acting as the primary support resource for end-users
  • Responding to questions and requests related to data, applications, reports, and assigned systems’ operations
  • Recommending process improvements that improve user experience or enhance a program 
  • Keeping abreast of technical trends and changes by reading technical publications and attending workshops and other systems and applications related training
Qualifications and skills we are looking for include:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or other related degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to work with and developing project schedules 
  • SharePoint and TFS experience, preferred
  • Working knowledge of Python
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task, manage sub-projects and meet deadlines
  • Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to help define and implement new processes within testing team
  • Knowledge of Selenium automated testing
  • C# Programming
  • SQL
