I had the pleasure of attending the Insurance and Risk Management Scholarship Recognition Luncheon at Indiana State University on April 29. Indiana Farmers awarded two scholarships to the university who in turn chose the recipients.
This year's honorees are James Kramer, aka Jak, a freshman Insurance and Risk Management/Finance major and Larynda Keith, a junior Insurance and Risk Management/Finance major.
Both students were enthusiastic and dynamic, talking excitedly about upcoming plans for this summer and for their studies in general.
Jak will do a semester abroad and after discussing the pros and cons of several countries, I believe he’ll be heading off to South Africa... one of my favorites!
Larynda is from the small town of Elnora where she will ultimately return after college. Her family lives within a stone’s throw from one another and she’s anxious to get back there for summer break.
Our time was short but if these two are any indication as to the level of intelligence within their field of study, then there is no doubt in my mind that the future leaders of insurance will be sharp and diligent in staying on the cutting edge!
